Save the Date for the 28th Annual Seattle AIDS Walk
Seattle – July 15 —Lifelong's Seattle AIDS Walk returns on September 28, 2014 at Volunteer Park in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. This year marks the 28th anniversary of the AIDS Walk.
There are 7,200 people living with HIV/AIDS in King County. Of these, 4,200 people with HIV/AIDS are not virally suppressed; meaning their chances of infecting other people is much higher. It is estimated that 20% of infected persons do not know they carry the disease.
The family-friendly event draws a diverse crowd of 4,000 participants including longtime supporters who walk in memory.
The park opens at 8:30 a.m. and the AIDS Walk starts at 10 a.m. Following the AIDS Walk there will be a celebration at Volunteer Park with music, mimosas, and bloody marys. Riz Rollins from KEXP performing live.
The Seattle AIDS Walk is presented by Swedish. Additional sponsors include Nyhus Communications and DEI Creative. Media partners include KING-5, C89.5, KEXP, The Stranger, and Titan Outdoor.
Register as an individual, join an existing team, or create a team of your own. The event is free to walkers (with a suggested donation of $25). The fee to participate as a runner is $35.
