Patti Plemons lost many dear friends to AIDS and resolved to make a difference. After moving to Seattle three years ago, she continued the activism she’d started in Arizona by volunteering with Lifelong AIDS Alliance. In three short years, she’s done more than most do in a lifetime. She interviews new volunteers to help match them up with the work they are most interested in, staffs food collection bins at Care to Shop food drives, and joins in Thursday Night Thing drop in volunteering to do everything from assembling safe sex kits, putting together Gay Bingo packets, and calling people to remind them to contact their elected officials.

"I get to volunteer with absolutely wonderful and committed people,” said Plemons. “I am completely behind Lifelong. They and similar organizations mean hope for the future through legislation, education and service.”
