Ryan White CARE Act Reauthorization
After two years of negotiations and compromise, Congress reauthorized the Ryan White CARE Act on Saturday, December 9. For more information on the reauthorization, read Lifelong's press release here.
On a national level, Lifelong's Lead Policy & Community Advocate sits on the AIDS Action Council, as a founding agency member. The Council is made up of executive directors of AIDS Service Organizations from across the country, including Gay Men’s Health Crisis (NY), San Francisco AIDS Foundation, AIDS Foundation of Chicago and AIDS Project Los Angeles. By having the largest ASOs in the country unite, we are able to have one strong voice in Washington D.C. This extraordinary group is already preparing for a political change and is meeting with the Presidential Candidates late next month.
