The Development Coordinator provides administrative support to the Development Director and assists with many core department functions with an emphasis on major donors. This support will include assisting with cultivation of the Board of Directors, and both current and prospective major donors. The Development Coordinator reports to the Director of Development. This is a full-time, non-exempt, union, regular position.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide support for donor relations in all areas of development and events.
2. Edit and format correspondence and proposals as requested.
3. Respond to callers and visitors, (including donors, Board, Emeritus and volunteer), who inquire about Lifelong development procedures, and upcoming event details.
4. Prepare materials, and agendas for internal and external meetings and events, including taking meeting minutes as necessary.
5. Update and maintain accurate donor records, coding and action items, including recording departmental donor correspondence, verifying gift amounts and coding to maintain the integrity of donor files.
6. Assist with development projects and mailings to donors.
7. Coordinate meetings and assist with development events (e.g., stewardship and cultivation events).
8. Assist in implementing a general stewardship plan, including timely processing of acknowledgements and other correspondence.
9. Purge/archive donor files as necessary with Lifelong archiving procedures
10. Assist with coordinating volunteer support to the development functions.
11. Assist in preparing profiles of current and prospective donors.
12. Provide administrative support to the Development Director for all Board fundraising tracking in Raisers Edge.
13. Monitor and order needed office supplies for development.
14. Perform all assigned duties of position.
ORGANIZATIONAL CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

6. Regular and reliable attendance, with regular and reliable hours as defined by your supervisor
7. Commitment to the HIV/AIDS issue and to the work of Lifelong AIDS Alliance
8. Maintain confidentiality of financial, donor and client records
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
• Two or more years of development experience required
• Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills
• One year of experience related to Raiser’s Edge or similar donor database
• Able to organize, prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a time-sensitive environment
• Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
• Possess an understanding of professional boundaries
• Demonstrated skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications, including Excel, Access and Word
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written form
• Proven ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
• Ability to be flexible with change of duties as needed
• Ability to develop good working relationships with internal and external customers
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under stressful conditions
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and walk up one flight of stairs
• Ability to occasionally work a flexible schedule that will include evenings and weekends
