Frequently Asked Questions:

What doctors are available?
Among the many excellent doctors in King County who treat people living with HIV/AIDS, you can request:
• A male or female doctor
• A doctor with a practice near your home or office
• A doctor who charges lower fees
• A private doctor or community clinic

What dental care is available?
It is best to see the dentist before you have an emergency because most coverage emphasizes preventative care. Basic dental coverage can be covered through:

  •  Medicaid (also known as DSHS or medical coupons)
  •  Ryan White dental funds
  • The Early Intervention Program
  •  Private dental insurance
  •  You may even qualify for FREE basic dental care!

I just found out I have HIV and I’ve heard how much money HIV medications can cost. Can you help?
Yes, we can recommend programs to help pay for medical care, including medications. We’re happy to help connect you to these programs, even if you don’t have a job or health insurance.

Help! My doctor is not covered on my new health insurance plan! What do I do?
Lots of doctors in King County have experience in HIV/AIDS. We can help you go through your insurance list to find the provider that best fits your needs.

I've been HIV positive for a while and haven't seen a dentist in a while.  Where do I start?
Give us a call. We can help find a dentist you’ll feel comfortable with.
